Co-pyrolysis of oil palm trunk and polypropylene: Pyrolysis oil composition and formation mechanism

چکیده
Pyrolysis oil can be used as a precursor to synthesize value-added biochemicals. Co-pyrolysis of two or more feedstocks generally improves the selectivity and yield target compounds. In this work, palm trunk (OPT) was subjected single-feed pyrolysis co-pyrolysis with polypropylene (PP) from 500 700 °C. The highest 26.33 wt.% obtained OPT at °C, which mainly contributed by lignin decomposition in OPT. Phenolics (51.77–57.78%) oxygenates (36.31–46.99%) were major compounds detected OPT-derived oil. addition PP enhanced formation hydrocarbons (5.19–10.22%) decreased contents phenolics (34.01–41.85%) case co-pyrolysis, intermolecular reactions between radicals led ketones alcohols, increase content. 16.17 600 °C contained phenolic compounds, oxygenated (i.e., furans), hydrocarbons. These findings highlighted potential derived (single feed) (binary for production chemicals.

Sulfonation of phenols extracted from the pyrolysis oil of oil palm shells for enhanced oil recovery.
The cost of chemicals prohibits many technically feasible enhanced oil recovery methods to be applied in oil fields. It is shown that by-products from oil palm processing can be a source of valuable chemicals. Analysis of the pyrolysis oil from oil palm shells, a by-product of the palm oil industry, reveals a complex mixture of mainly phenolic compounds, carboxylic acids, and aldehydes. The phe...

Pyrolysis of palm kernel shell in a fixed-bed reactor was studied in this paper. The objectives were to investigate the effect of pyrolysis temperature and particle size on the products yield and to characterize the bio-oil product. In order to get the optimum pyrolysis parameters on bio-oil yield, temperatures of 350, 400, 450, 500 and 550 °C and particle sizes of 212–300 μm, 300–600 μm, 600μm...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Pyrolysis and co-pyrolysis of Laminaria japonica and polypropylene over mesoporous Al-SBA-15 catalyst
The catalytic co-pyrolysis of a seaweed biomass, Laminaria japonica, and a typical polymer material, polypropylene, was studied for the first time. A mesoporous material Al-SBA-15 was used as a catalyst. Pyrolysis experiments were conducted using a fixed-bed reactor and pyrolysis gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS). BET surface area, N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms, and NH3 tempe...
متن کاملVaporization Parameters of Primary Pyrolysis Oil from Kukersite Oil Shale
The objective of this study was to obtain vapor pressure and heat of vaporization values of the less volatile heavy end of the Kukersite oil shale primary pyrolysis oil and therefore to have a quantitative insight into the vaporization ability of the oil during the pyrolysis process. The shale oil was produced via rapid pyrolysis in a laboratory scale reactor and collected in a solvent filled c...
